Boarding Scholarships are available for rural and regional students who need financial assistance to attend the College. Applicants should demonstrate a broad range of interests, a strong desire to embrace the opportunities at the College, and a good academic standard.
The process includes a written application, followed by an interview and scholarship test for shortlisted students. Please carefully review the eligibility criteria and detail fields to ensure accurate responses on the application form.

In memory of Old Collegian, Former College Council member and leader in agriculture, Jennie Hawkins. The Jennie Hawkins Scholarship offers a 50% boarding fee reduction to a female boarder for entry into Year 9 or 10 at The Geelong College for the maximum duration of four years. It will be awarded, at the discretion of the Principal, to a girl from a farm community or rural town (not a provincial city), with a preference that the student is from the Riverina (not essential). The scholarship will be awarded cyclically, as the former Jennie Hawkins Scholar graduates.
Mr Alastair Gordon Brebner (OGC 1952) was a proud student at the College, attending as a boarder from 1949 to 1956. His father William (OGC 1903) and brother Bill (OGC 1949) also attended the College. Alistair was a founding member of the Foundation’s Morrison Society which recognises and thanks members of the College community who choose to remember the College and the Foundation in their will.
The Brebner Boarding Scholarships will fund a percentage of the boarding fees, at the discretion of the Principal, for at least one new student from a rural or remote area entering Year 7, 9, 10 or 11 at The Geelong College until they finish in Year 12 (up to six years). The scholarship will be awarded cyclically, as the former Brebner Boarding Scholar/s graduates.
