EL Enrolment timelines

Early Learning Enrolment Applications are processed in April/May each year and offers of place are made around June/July the year before your child is due to commence.

We encourage families to attend an Open Day to meet with our staff and view our learning spaces.

For Early Learning Enrolment Enquiries and general information about our program, please contact our Director of Early Learning,  Mrs Julie Bickett on 5226 8437 or via email Julie.bickett@tgc.vic.edu.au

EL Enrolment

Geelong College Early Learning (EL) is the first entry point to the school. Early Learning currently offers four classes: two classes for 3-4 year olds (EL3), and two classes for 4-5 year olds (EL4). On entry the Director of Early Learning and the Admissions Manager will advise you of your child’s class placement depending on the date of birth and year of entry.

Age Recommendation for EL3 Entry

Due to new funding legislation our flexibility to offer children an additional year of either 3 or 4 year-old kindergarten has been greatly affected. Therefore, we recommend children have turned three by the commencement of the school year. To begin in Early Learning children are required to have turned three years of age by April 30 in the year of attendance. Children who turn three between February 1 and April 30 may commence on or after their third birthday.

Funded Kindergarten

The Victorian Government provides funding to support children to access a high quality kindergarten program in the two years before they start school. The funding is a contribution towards meeting the cost of the kindergarten program. Please note that all places offered at The Geelong College Early Learning are funded places and children can only be funded at one service at any one time. If your child will be attending another service that offers a funded kindergarten program, you must tell that service that you are receiving a funded kindergarten place at our service.
